Jack Beatty Memorial Hospice Cruise & Clambake Proceeds Provide New Ambulette
20th Annual Event is Friday, July 12 at Youngstown Yacht Club

The Jack Beatty
Memorial Hospice Cruise and Clambake, held on Friday July 13, 2018 continued
its tradition of great entertainment, delicious food, and
leisurely sailing and power boating up the Niagara River, all to
benefit Niagara Hospice. The event, celebrating its 19th year,
raised $34,823.
The donation, presented on the evening of October 11 2018 at Niagara
Hospice in Lockport, will go toward the purchase of a new ambulette to
transport patients. The new vehicle features a wheelchair lift and will be used
to bring patients to and from area hospitals, patient's homes, and Niagara
Hospice House.
Once
again, the Youngstown Yacht Club was the setting for the event that featured local
skippers and crews from various marinas on Lake Ontario, donating
their time and boats to take participants on a cruise up the Lower Niagara
River while enjoying food, drinks, and listening to The Junk Yard Dogs Band
played music on the water while on a pontoon boat! The three hour cruise
was followed by a clambake featuring a cookout, basket and silent
auctions, and more live music by Soul Committee. "Lori and I, along with Paul
Beatty Sr, are very grateful for all of the support and thank the generous
people, businesses and organizations that continue to make the event a success
each year", Co-Chair Adam Burns said.
The 20th
annual event will be held Friday July 12, 2019 at the
Youngstown Yacht Club. Save the date for this milestone celebration. Be
sure you don't miss the boat and shore-side fun. Registration will open January
1st, 2019 at www.niagarahospiceregatta.com. The cruise portion of the event will sell out as it has
the past three years due to the limited amount of boats.
