You are never too young to start making a difference in your community. That's the lesson that Lewiston Porter students learned this past Thanksgiving. Teachers, students and families from the Primary Education Center participated in the fourth annual Lew-Port Turkey Trot and raised $1000 for Niagara Hospice.

The Turkey Trot was held at the Lewiston Porter High School track on Tuesday, November 25 before the start of school. Over 300 participants ran, walked, and trotted around the track to support the event. The trot kicked off with music from the High School band and encouragement from the High School cheerleaders. Finish line services were donated by Paul Beatty, Jr. and Race Management Solutions.

Niagara Hospice has provided end-of-life comfort, care and support since 1988 to over 20,000 Niagara County individuals and families faced with terminal illness. No one is ever denied hospice care due to inability to pay thanks to the fundraising efforts of the Niagara Hospice Alliance and a generous community.
