Thank you Niagara Hospice Volunteers

National Volunteer Week is a time to celebrate those who give the greatest gift of all-themselves. Volunteers don't ask for anything in return for their services, that's what volunteering is all about, which makes it even more important that their commitment doesn't go unnoticed. In recognition of National Volunteer Week, April 21-27th we are celebrating the 105 active volunteers whose steadfast dedication and commitment enable Niagara Hospice to fulfill its mission of providing the right care, in the right place, at the right time.

It has always been said that our volunteers are the "heart and soul" of Hospice. But they are so much more than that. Niagara Hospice volunteers offer support, companionship and a sense of community to patients and their families who are facing a serious, life-limiting illness. Our Hospice volunteers' acts of compassion, both large and small, bring our patients comfort, company, and hope. These very extraordinary people share their time and energy with patients and their families at a very difficult time. Whether it's sitting with a patient to give their caregiver a break, reading a book, or helping with our special events - no matter what the activity, the gift of time leaves a lasting impression on our patients and their families.

On Friday April 26th we are holding a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon from 10am-4pm for our Niagara Hospice Volunteers to show that their time, hard work, and loyalty do not go unnoticed.

On behalf of the Niagara Hospice staff, Board of Directors and most importantly, the many families our volunteers serve -we would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt "Thank you," for your dedication, compassion, talents and all that you do each and every day.

If you or anyone you know would like to learn more on how to become a member of our volunteer team, please call Allison Nemi or Andrea Haseley at 280-0748 or visit our website at NiagaraHospice.org/volunteer.
