Volunteer Training is April 1-2
By Lisa Schmidt, Volunteer Services Coordinator
Are you interested in taking on a new role in your life? Niagara Hospice offers a variety of great volunteer opportunities for people to use their time, talents and interests for activities that help others in our communities across Niagara County.
Volunteers are the heart of our organization. Volunteers serve in many different capacities including patient visits, respite visits, pet visits, Veteran visits and assisting with a variety of special event roles and administrative tasks.
We also have several volunteer nurses and hairdressers who put their professional licenses and expertise to work in their service to patients and families.
Our next volunteer training will be Wednesday, April 1 & Tuesday, April 2 from 5-9 p.m. at our administration building conference room located at 4675 Sunset Drive in Lockport. If you are interested in attending, please call 280-0748._2.JPG)

We are fortunate to have an amazing group of volunteers, many of whom have a direct connection with Niagara Hospice. Often, they have lost a loved one through our program and understand all the services that are provided to patients and their families.
Our volunteers are such an integral part of the organization. They provide companionship to patients, allowing them to have a better quality of life. Volunteers also allow the patient's family members/caregivers a much needed break to run errands or have a couple hours to themselves. Volunteers who feel that they cannot help directly with patients will contribute their time and talents with memorial fundraising events to make sure they run smoothly. They also assist every department in one way or another with administrative projects. We also have a great need for volunteers to help with patients in Niagara Falls and rural areas of Eastern Niagara County.
If one of these roles sounds like the right fit for you and you are looking for a volunteer opportunity that provides you with a sense of fulfillment, please consider joining the Niagara Hospice team.
