News & Events July 13, 2010 « Back To News HOSPICE WARNS OF PHONY FUNDRAISER CALLS Niagara Hospice officials report that several Niagara County residents have notified them in the last month and this week of fundraising solicitors who claim they are raising funds for Hospice and other services. The callers have been reportedly persistent in asking residents to commit to a dollar amount. Director of Marketing and Public Relations, Tricia Degan stated: “Niagara Hospice is not involved in any fundraising phone solicitations to residents. Our fundraising is traditionally done by mail and we caution people to be wary of anyone calling them to request a donation commitment.” Degan asks that anyone receiving calls where the solicitor uses Niagara Hospice’s name that they ask the caller for contact information and report it to Niagara Hospice by calling 439-4417. Anyone wishing to make a donation to Niagara Hospice may do so by mailing it to the organization at 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094; or, donors may make a secure on-line donation at www.NiagaraHospice.org.
