Memorial Regatta Raises over $20,000 for Niagara Hospice

Members of the Jack Beatty Hospice Memorial Regatta presented Niagara Hospice with the proceeds from their Niagara River Boat Cruise and Clambake that took place in July at the Youngstown Yacht Club. This year marked the 10th year of success for the event raising over $200,000 to date and making it the largest independent fundraiser for Niagara Hospice.

The event has become well known throughout Niagara County and continues to grow with guests and supporters every year. The River Boat Cruise and Clambake is open to the public and is known to be one of the best parties of the summer. This past July the Cruise had over 25 boats and 200 cruisers and the clam bake brought in an additional 100 people, a record high for the event.

All proceeds go to Niagara Hospice and Niagara Hospice House. “I’m continually amazed by the generosity and kindness of our local community. Every year the public steps up and shows their support for the event and Niagara Hospice,” said event Chairperson Paul Beatty, Jr.

“We are forever grateful for the continuous dedication of the Beatty family. Year after year they put on such a phenomenal event for Niagara Hospice,” said Niagara Hospice President and CEO, John Lomeo. Next years River Cruise and Clambake will be held on Friday July 9, 2010 and the Regatta will follow on Saturday, July 10.
