Featured Events

Niagara Hospice and it's supporters host dozens of events each year in order to be able to give our patients and their families the best care possible. Here are the featured events Niagara Hospice hosts annually. For a complete list of events that benefit Niagara Hospice, visit our event calendar page.

Spring Bouquet

Held annually in March right before the official beginning of spring, the Spring Bouquet Sale enlists the help of churches, businesses, schools and organizations throughout Niagara County to help sell beautiful, fragrant bouquets of flowers. This event relies heavily on volunteers and our community partners to be successful. Become a pre-sale coordinator, a walk up sale location, or help deliver during the week of the sale. If you are interested in helping with the sale, call our Events department at 716-280-0766.

Memorial Butterfly Release

Let your memories take flight at our annual Memorial Butterfly Release. Held in July at the Niagara Hospice Campus in Lockport, our guests enjoy music, refreshments, kid's games, a bounce house and more! Families pre-order live Monarch Butterflies in memory of their loved ones. The butterflies are released together following a short ceremony conducted by Niagara Hospice staff. The beauty of the Monarch and the butterfly symbolizing change and transition create a healing moment for those who are suffering the loss of a loved one.

Jack Beatty Hospice Cruise and Clambake

A truly unique event, the Jack Beatty Hospice Cruise and Clambake is held every year in July at the Youngstown Yacht Club. Members of the Yacht Club generously donate their boats and their time to take you and your friends up the Niagara River for a leisurely cruise, while you enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres and listen to live, on-the-water entertainment. After the cruise, you will return to the beautiful Youngstown Yacht Club for a fabulous clambake with all the trimmings.  Why not get your friends together and plan on enjoying this event?

Mighty Niagara Half Marathon / Niagara Hospice Dash 5K

The Mighty Niagara Half Marathon was first introduced by event chairman Paul Beatty in the fall of 2011 as the Hospice Dash Half Marathon. The event was such a huge success that Niagara Hospice decided to promote the race on a national level and make it their premier annual event. Our dedicated race committee has gone to great lengths to make sure that this is the one race you will want to have marked on your calendar year after year. Some races are known for their scenic routes, while others are known for incredible post-race parties. Some offer high quality racing shirts that runners look forward to wearing long after the race is done, while others present their athletes with spectacular custom-made race medals to commemorate the great achievement. This race offers it all... and more! A pre-race concert, 15 to 20 live bands, historic sites, beautiful views of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario, post-race celebration, awesome shirts, cool medals, great food, and so much more! For more information please visit The Mighty Niagara Half Marathon's website or The Hospice Dash registration page.

Light-a-Life

Our Light-a-Life Memorial Tree Lighting Ceremony held annually in December helps to start off the holiday season, we offer families a chance to take a moment and reflect during the hustle & bustle of the season to focus on themselves and the grieving process. The holidays can be especially difficult for those who have lost someone close to them. The Niagara Hospice Outreach Department conducts the tree lighting ceremony, there is music, refreshments and a special photo slideshow. Memory tags for your tree and other memorial items are also available for a donation.
